Im sure you have read in the earlier posts about Peter Cook lecturing the subject "Hard & Soft" at SCI-ARC, if you didn't then you need to start paying attention to the VP blog, here is the recap for the exhibit of the "L.A. in Wien / Wien in L.A." from last Friday the 24th of July. The exhibit is about connecting influential architecture of Vienna, Austria and Los Angeles, Californian architecture.

URBAN DICTIONARY.

I hope you all know that our "VILLANY" is not an actual word, well it is now. It also may be mistaken for the actual word "villainy" which in this case our word would be thought to be misspelled, actually no. The intention for our name "Villany" to be spelled differently but sound similar, if not, "Villainy" has a similar definition as well.

(actual word) VILLAINY (villain E)

1. Baseness of mind or character.
2. Viciousness of conduct or action.
3. A treacherous or vicious act.

(our word) VILLANY (VIL Lin Nee)

Well, I guess we can be all three of the above, if not more darker than words can express, or how ever you like it to be. So I've made our VILLANY official on the Urban Dictionary. I actually ran across the editors and asked permission to publish VP and they did.

DXC & HOLY GRAIL.

To you folks that pay attention to the sneaker industry and the unfortunate events that occurred with sneaker retailer, Holy Grail, during the Los Angeles Laker riots that happened recently. Basically they were one of the victims during that riot and got robbed of over 90% of their inventory. Here they are standing strong with a huge event with special guest support like The Gza and Evidence from Dilated Peoples for the next DunkXChange. I also forgot to mention it is DXC's 4th anniversary.


VP will also be here for the support selling our product.

CAUGHT RED HANDED.

ZEVS, French graff artist, was scheduled to appear at the Art Statements gallery in Hong Kong for his show. Unfortunately he was arrested for "vandalizing" the Giorgio Armani flagship store days before. Here are some of his well known art work around the world, for more on ZEVS...google it.

LA WOMEN BY ESTEVAN ORIOL.

The highly anticipated book, LA Woman, from Estevan Oriol is now available for pre-order at various book stores, such as Barns & Nobles, Borders, etc. Him being known for his LA/black&white style photography, he also has good taste in gorgeous women and them all included in to one book. The book will officially drop on September 15th, so go and secure yourself a copy!

PETER COOK AT SCI-ARC.

Casually well known architects approach SCI-ARC to spread their words of wisdom. Of the many English writer and Architect, Peter Cook has paid a visit to deliver a lecture to my fellow colleges at the Southern California Institute of Architecture to discuss the subject of "Hard & Soft".

I believe some of his perspective of shapes may come from body organs and aortas to develop them in to landmark structures. What a intriguing imagination. Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria.
